Supreme Court drops the ball
This is a rant; I can’t help it; things are circling the drain, and our “leaders” keep playing tit-for-tat. We asked a direct question, and they gave a political answer.
We asked for a ruling on whether or not Trump should be able to run for president if he was an insurrectionist. And they said, “Not my Job.” Ask Congress.
They are as broken as all the other parts of government that are letting the American people down. Unless you are on the red team, then it was a win! This is too much like freshman football and not enough like governmental leadership. Congress has excelled at failed leadership; both candidates, in their own ways, have failed at leadership, and now they are joined by a Supreme Court that is failing in its leadership role.
Or if you read between the lines, the court is possibly saying this is something a vote should decide. A process that was not honored the last time we did it, so why should we believe it would be honored this time?
Charges of cheating were brought to the courts. No evidence was presented, and no judgments were found to substantiate the charges. So let’s step back and ask, Who do you want to run the government? A group of people were able to falsify the results of a national election so cleverly that there was no evidence of the crime. Right or wrong, that sounds like a very smart and capable group. But as Republicans have no trouble pointing out, these Democrats are incompetent boobs. See the contradiction?
I know you are, but what am I, I know you are, but what am I, I know you ….. Please! Can we get the adults to return to the room? Oh wait, anyone with half a brain knows you don’t go into government to provide leadership or direction. The government is guaranteed lifetime benefits with a sideline of insider trading. It’s how you get rich, silly boy. I have always contended anyone smart enough to lead the country is smart enough to stay away from this hot mess.
We need to raise the bar for our lawmakers and government officials. It shouldn’t be a popularity contest like Queen of the Prom, and there needs to be some level of competency. While we’re at it there should be some heavy restrictions on money, legal gains, or otherwise questionable investing and consulting,
So when can we expect our lawmakers (fat, dumb, and happy) to change the laws so we attract leadership to the job instead of freeloaders like Santos? Well, never!
Don’t you just hate it when someone points out a desperate situation and doesn’t offer a hint of a solution? Me too, so here is a clear and tangible step everyone can take that sends a message.
Money is at the root of most of the partisan bickering and other underhanded bullshit that preoccupies our leaders. So we change the money, opt out of the dollar.
Buy Bitcoin; it sends the message that we can get by without running up a national debt that will never get paid back. Really! Trillion-dollar annual interest payments?
If they can be trusted to manage our fiscal policies with more competence than a bag of hammers, we all should opt out; vote with your dollars instead of throwing away your money supporting a political hack that talks out both sides of their mouth and delivers nothing, take that money and buy bitcoin, who says it doesn’t have utility it sends a message. GOVERNMENT IS ABOUT LEADERSHIP NOT CONTROL.
Rules without rulers, as they say in the Bitcoin world, Hard money you can’t fu&$* with. And Clarence Thomas should take John Oliver’s contract.
