When Money Becomes a Means of Control

Money is defined by these functions:

A unit of account

A medium of exchange

A store of value

However, when kings and countries got involved with money they introduced another function that did not serve the market rather it served the state.

A means of control

This is when trust in money started its downward fall and it’s reaching the bottom of the barrel.

Trust is courage humility is truth

I have been burned several times in my life because I trusted. I'm no angel others trusted me and I'm sure they feel that they were burned as well. It's not like I woke up in the morning and said today I'm going to betray someone's trust.

I hold trust and honesty in the highest esteem.

Trusting is not an easy thing to do correctly. It's not something that you do once and live with the results forever. Rather it's something you do every day moment by moment.

Trust requires that we be honest with ourselves and with others. An honest appraisal of oneself is the essence of humility. There are not really any alternative facts they're just facts. Sometimes facing these facts requires courage.

If you're foolish you can trust the bank or your government or any other institution. But trust is a unique bond built between people. The people in government banks and institutions change, so should your level of trust.

Trust is essential for civilization.

The End Run

The printing press was an "End Run" around the church's monopoly on information and knowledge. Resulting in an era of innovation and unprecedented prosperity and the beginning of the end of feudalism.

The internet again freed up knowledge from the so-called "Experts", giving anyone with the will to learn a path to greater freedom. Proving that knowledge is not power rather what one does with knowledge makes them powerful or not.

Likewise, Bitcoin is an end-run around the abusive monopolies of state-run money. Voting doesn't matter anymore when the government is up for sale to the biggest contributor or lobbyists. When rules are made to lock in the wealth of a few at the expense of the many, conditions for a revolution are ripe.

This revolution like the "End Runs" of the past doesn't play by the old rules co-opted by the wealthy monopolies. Bitcoin changes the nature of money and wealth, negating the old game. The humble truth we all learned at an early age (1+1=2) cant be co-opted and can be trusted. Bitcoin is math-based.

Fiat money will not disappear overnight, the game will continue until players realize the new rules don’t allow the old game to function. Money as a means of control doesn't work anymore.
